Wireworks LumaVue
Panels Illuminate Aerospace Corporation's Stars Launch Room
December 8th, 2009 EL
SEGUNDO, CA – Wireworks best-selling LumaVue Custom Panels rise to
the occasion for the STARS Launch Room at the Aerospace
Corporations’ Launch Operations Center, a federally funded research
and development center for the United States Air Force and the
National Reconnaissance Office that provides information on launch
vehicles, satellite systems, ground control systems, and space
technology.
Located on the control consoles, which were manufactured and
installed by Premier Enclosure Systems (PES), a 40-year-old Southern
California-based company that manufactures high quality enclosures,
including modified standard, custom and NEMA special designs,
Wireworks LumaVue offers an easy to-read back-lit interface panel
that complements the state-of-the-art technology upgrades performed
by PES for the Aerospace Corporation. Wireworks LumaVue Custom
Panels offer several, easy-to-access connections directly on the
control console. These include a headset jack, an Ethernet network
port, a USB interface to the computer that sits below the console
and a task light dimmer switch.
“Wireworks LumaVue panels look great in our facility,” says Bruce
Mau, senior STARS project leader at Aerospace Corporation. “We are
receiving excellent feedback from all levels within our organization
– from admirals to generals to space engineers – who all think it
looks fantastic. During take-off, the room is pitch black and the
only things that can be seen are the large display screen and the
LumaVue panels. This helps our operators connect easily into the
panel even when the lights are off.”
The Aerospace Corporation has monitored every national security
launch with the help of a one-of-a-kind technology unique to the
launch industry — STARS, or the Spacelift Telemetry Acquisition and
Reporting System. STARS is a launch data-processing and monitoring
system developed by Aerospace and is now a critical mission
assurance tool used to certify the readiness of every national
security space launch. STARS makes it possible to monitor each
launch remotely in real time, and offers a common platform for data
analysis across all launch vehicles.
Ideal for a wide range of
applications, Wireworks new, first-to-market LumaVue Custom Panels
and Plates can be rear illuminated for instant identification and
are the perfect solution for use in a wide range of locations where
there is limited visibility. Since each panel is custom-made, design
possibilities are unlimited, allowing for virtually any wording,
numbering, identification, diagram, symbol, graphic and corporate
logo to be permanently imprinted.
Panels are rear-engraved
using Wireworks computer integrated manufacturing engraving system
so markings cannot be marred or destroyed. The engraving is readable
and visible on its own, even without rear illumination. The panels
will not rust or tarnish and are offered in 10 high-impact colors to
match or contrast the venue’s décor. Panels are available with a
gloss or matte finish.
In addition to connection and switch panels, LumaVue Custom Panels
and Plates can be used for diagrams of any kind, providing maximum
electrical isolation between connectors. Available in a variety of
sizes and shapes, including standard gang plates, wall plates and
rack panels, LumaVue is suitable for interface panels of any kind.
LumaVue is manufactured in 1/8″ or 1/4″ thickness to meet any design
requirement. UV stabilized for outdoor use, Wireworks LumaVue
features a non-metallic cell-cast acrylic coating for maximum
durability.
