G5/160i Connector

Setting the Standard.

Wireworks announces, the G5/160i Interconnect Standard. After two years of evaluation and engineering, Wireworks is pleased to provide a new connector standard designed for professional use in audio cabling systems as large as 53 channels!

The G5/160i standard encompasses connector design, keying, mating, locking, pin-out arrangement, and cable strain relief.

Rectangular in design, G5/160i eliminates the possibility of out-of-round problems typical in circular connector styles. All contacts are gold plated for excellent conductivity; the sockets incorporate a pressure plate induced wiping action that assures long-lasting, trouble-free signal transmission. The contacts are protected by a steel shroud which, in conjunction with stainless steel guide pins, insures correct mating. A welded steel connector body with integral nylon cable strain relief out-performs all commercially available products. Mated connectors are held securely together by a screw-type locking mechanism.

INADVERTENT UNCOUPLING IS IMPOSSIBLE.

The G5/160i pin-out arrangement is circular and corresponds to typical cabling constructions. It provides balanced connector population in a variety of channel sizes.

Designed to replace the obsolete plastic shell G4/AMP "Quick-Latch" connector, G5/160i is now standard on all Wireworks 36 & 50 channel components.
