Understanding that space is often at a premium on Broadcast trunks, and on site, the DT12 steel breakout boxes are a quarter the size of available alternatives - just three inches square, barely larger than the DT12 connectors themselves - without giving up strength and dependability. Recessed XLR black/gold connectors and dual sided channel identification allow for use in any orientation. It's ingeniously designed with the broadcaster in mind. Similarly, the DT12 trunks are manufactured with full sized 22 AWG conductors providing lower signal loss especially in long run cables commonly required in remote sporting environments. This rugged cable design coupled with Wireworks manufacturing expertise guarantees continuous first class service in permanent, remote and road applications. Of course, all cable is 100% shielded to prevent electrical interference and cross-talk. All connector XLR contacts are gold plated to prevent oxidation in out-of-doors use. As in all Wireworks products, no plastic connectors or pop-rivets are used anywhere! All connector shells are metal to assure strength and longevity.
